SUMMIT TALKS AND EXPLANATIONS
COME AND REJOICE

COME REJOICE SUMMIT OPENING SESSION
RECOVERY VS SOBRIETY
We call our ministry Celebrate Recovery, so what is recovery and how does it differ from sobriety? Is sobriety the main goal of recovery, or is there something more? Johnny Baker will discuss why he believes that sobriety is a part of recovery, but how focusing on recovery instead of sobriety, can give us so much more.
WHAT IS CELEBRATE RECOVERY
Many of you may be new to Celebrate Recovery and may have many questions about it. What is Celebrate Recovery? Who is it for, and why should everyone be a part of it? Johnny and Jeni Baker will cover these and many more questions you may have.
RESTORATION
Restoration has been defined as “to bring back” or “to return something to its original state.” Our Father God longs to bring us back home; back home where we belong. And not only that, but because He paid a price beyond what we could imagine restoring us, we are better than new!
GUARDING YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
One in five adults will experience a mental illness in the coming year; this means you or someone you know. Let’s continue breaking the bondage of shame and guilt that mental health stigma brings. Let’s have some real talk around anger, depression, anxiety, and domestic violence. This session will bring acknowledgment, education, and God’s truth to address mental health challenges.
SIX CHARACTERICS OF A GREAT CELEBRATE RECOVERY LEADER
In this session we will discuss the six characteristics that are key to becoming a great Celebrate Recovery leader. The six characteristics that we will discuss are leaders that Love Learning, Embrace Vulnerability, Accept Responsibility, Demonstrate Service, Express Boldness, and Recognize Needs.
HOW TO FIND HEALING FROM CODEPENDENCY
Codependency. Even though it’s such a common area of recovery, it can be a hard one to understand and explain. What is it? How do you know if you struggle with it? What does recovery even look like for codependency. In these 2 sessions Cheryl and Jeni Baker are going to share how their personal definitions of codependency helped them navigate through this complicated issue. They will share how the hurts of childhood can lead to a lifelong struggle, and how with Jesus Christ, you can find healing through recovery.
REENGAGE: MY CELEBRATE RECOVERY GROUP POST COVID-19
Our world is changing at a rapid pace. Now more than ever people need to hear the hope of Jesus Christ through CR. What does it look like as we reengage in our local CR ministry post Covid-19? In this session Johnny, Mac and Rodney will unpack some important ideas and things to think about as you reopen and reengage with the broken in your community and church through Celebrate Recovery.
SEXUAL INTEGRITY-GODS DESIGN
Our world is changing at a rapid pace. Now more than ever people need to hear the hope of Jesus Christ through CR. What does it look like as we reengage in our local CR ministry post Covid-19? In this session Johnny, Mac and Rodney will unpack some important ideas and things to think about as you reopen and reengage with the broken in your community and church through Celebrate Recovery.
RENEWING YOUR MIND
Romans 12:1-2 challenges us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. The mind is a powerful force, a force that can be transformed. “We have more control over our thoughts than we think”. Painful experiences, as well as loss, devastation and trauma all have a profound impact on our thought life, actions and behavior. When we are intentional about focusing our attention on God, we being to change, from the inside out.

WORKING OUR RECOVERY IN AN EVERCHANGING WORLD
Has your life been completely upended, redirected or just inconvenienced by unexpected changes? Some as a result of choices and some due to circumstances beyond your control? You are not alone. How do we respond when we face change in our circumstances, relationships and recovery, especially in these unprecedented and uncertain times? There is a Chinese Proverb that states “When the winds of change blow, some build windmills and some build walls.” Let’s talk about what we are building in our lives and how we truly can “accept the things we cannot change and change the things we can.
FORGIVENESS-YOUR ROAD TO FREEDOM
Growing up in the early 70’s there was a song with the lyrics, “There are two paths you can go by. But in the long run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on.” These words stuck in the back of my mind; wondering was this really true? Could I really change the road I was on? The answer was yes, I could. It started with me accepting God’s forgiveness and then forgiving others. Forgiveness was the road that led to my freedom. What road are you on?
THE LANDING
What would life have looked like if we would have found recovery when we were 13 years old? So many of the lies and pain that drive our dysfunctional patterns take root in our younger years. We may not be able to go back and change the past, but through the Landing Celebrate Recovery provides a chance for our students to build a better foundation for joy and freedom in their lives. In this session we will look at the benefit of starting a Landing at your local Celebrate Recovery and the foundation it can build for lasting joy.
SHAME AND ITS UNHEALTHY CORRELATION TO COMPULSIVE BEHAVIOR
Why do we keep moving toward destructive habits that only lengthen the pain? The enemy will attempt to feed us with a false narrative about who we are and the source of our strength. Understanding the reasons why we go to unhealthy coping mechanisms is the key toward finding healing and changed behaviors. In this session, we will unpack the value of facing our past so that we can live with peace in the present and walk with strength into the future.
WHATS EATING YOU
Finding Freedom from Food Issues
We require food to live. And God gave us food to enjoy. Yet, for many food becomes a prison built on lies, fed by Satan, the media, and often well intentioned loved ones, ensnaring us in a need to look a certain way, and desperate to find “the answer” that will bring us freedom, but is always just out of reach. In this session we’ll discuss the lies we believe about ourselves and food, and how to walk in freedom while working a recovery process for food issues that brings God-given health and vitality back into our lives.

CR INTERNATIONAL-WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE
In the world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world, said Jesus in John 17:1 We hold an amazing key to serious solutions. Reaching the world with a message of hope, joy and peace through the miracles of recovery. There are more opportunities now, for Celebrate Recovery to move forward than ever before.
THE JOY INSIDE-HELPING PRISONERS AND THEIR FAMILIES
Danny Duchene and CR Inside Testimony God loves His captive people! When God spoke the words, “You will go out with Joy and be led forth in Peace” (Isaiah 55:12), He was speaking to His people in prison. There are more than 2 million prisoners as well as their children and families who are ready to hear the same message of God’s Joy and freedom. If you’ve ever felt the slightest tug in your heart to share the joy of God’s freedom with prisoners or their families, there has never been a better time to get started than the 2020 CR Summit. Come Celebrate the Joy Inside with us!
ANGEL TREE AND PRISON FELLOWSHIP
In this session, James will give us some inspiring life change stories and how Angel Tree is giving hope and love while impacting families both on the inside and outside of our prison system.
CELEBRATION PLACE
Psalm 127:3 says, “Children are a heritage from the Lord…a reward.” The question is what kind of inheritance are we preparing for them? Few people come to Celebrate Recovery when all is well. Most come when all else has failed…Celebrate Recovery is their last hope. Hurting moms and dads also hurt everyone else in their family, especially their children. Together we will share how Celebration Place partners with parents to reclaim the promise of family as God intended.
COMPASSION FATIGUE
In ministry, we can find ourselves in the deep pit of pain and struggles with those God has called us to love and serve. Sometimes that love for others is at the expense of our self. Taking care of our own heart in the midst of pain and struggles is critical for longstanding recovery and service. In this session, Rodney will unpack some important things to consider as we evaluate our own heart while walking with others through their pain and struggles.
BROKEN CHAINS JC
In the United States over 180 people a day lose their lives to drug overdose, over 130 people a day take their own lives. Why? Because they are hopeless! You and I know hope, His name is Jesus. Celebrate Recovery has taught us how to plug in to the freedom He came for us to have right here on earth. Broken Chains members are human billboards for Gods healing power. We’re letting people on the outside know that hope is real, that freedom is available, that change is possible! We’re getting the word out to folks who might not ever walk in to a church.

WELCOME HOME
It’s been four years since we launched the Welcome Home initiative. Some interesting things have begun to occur recently. And we’ve learned some things about launching and sustaining this vital ministry for veterans. In this video we’ll discuss considerations before you launch Welcome Home and ideas to make it thrive after launch.
CR NATIVE NATIONS
If you remember some of the circumstances on the reservations. 30% of Navajo have no running water. Suicide rates in some age groups 10 times the national average. No Jobs, no hope, no future. Let’s make a difference by sharing through CR, the Landing and Celebration Place how Jesus Christ can bring Joy, Hope, and the only lasting Peace. Luke 2:10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. We can make an eternal difference!
PORNOGRAPHY AND ITS EFFECTS ON RELATIONSHIPS
Healthy relationships are vital for our recovery. Understanding how pornography negatively alters how we see other people is key to maintaining those relationships. In this session we will unpack the effects of a pornography addiction, and discuss steps to restore relationships to God’s original intent.
CELEBRATE PASTORS IN RECOVERY
It is often said, “Recovery is for everyone!” It should be also added, “Recovery is for Pastors too!” But, can a pastor really get involved in a Step Study? Can a pastor feel safe in doing so? The CPR Workshop will provide some “how-to’s” and lots of encouragement. There will be open discussion for pastors and church staff interested in personal recovery, and wondering where to begin.
